Experience
Working with Stephanie
When you work with me, it’s about more than just taking photos, it’s about creating a space where you can feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely yourself. I started Rust Wind Photography from a deep love for storytelling and a passion for capturing life’s most meaningful moments. I grew up in New Jersey and fell in love with photography early, I got my first camera at 12 and was always the one documenting everything. I went on to study Cinema and Photography at Ithaca College, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. During that time, I created short films, wrote screen plays, created animations, worked with film and in the dark room, studied visual theory and art history, and even curated and installed my own photography exhibition from start to finish.
One of my most memorable experiences was interning at Studio D, the in-house production studio for Hearst Magazines. I got to work on creative content for brands like HGTV, Food Network, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar, an experience that shaped my eye for editorial and lifestyle photography.
Since graduating, I’ve worked in real estate photography and now specialize in capturing weddings, families, maternity, engagements, and life’s special moments. My style is soft, nostalgic, candid, editorial, but also full of natural light. I bring a calm, grounded energy to every session, and my goal is to help you feel fully present so your photos reflect the love and story that’s already there. I want your photos to feel like you, not just my style.

FAQ
01. How do we book you?
In order to book with me you can begin the process by emailing directly at rustwindphoto@gmail.com or filling out a submission on my contact page. From there I will set up a consultation where we can work together to see if we are a good fit for one another. I can get an idea of what you want, go over packages and customize them in a way that works perfectly for your special day or event. Once that is all finalized, we can begin the process of contracts/invoices. For weddings I typically ask for at least 6-12 months in advance, however I am always open to a shoot, so don't let this discourage you!

02. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO PHOTOGRAPH?

I love photographing all different kinds of photos, which is why I offer services ranging from weddings to family portraits and even fun events like birthday parties or baby showers!

03. How do you handle family photos on the wedding day?

Capturing photos with your loved ones on your big day shouldn't be a source of stress. I work with my clients to make a custom timeline, including shot lists. I go over with you before hand each family member, the members you want to highlight and in what way all prior to the big day. This way on your wedding day everything is already mapped out and seamless. From there I strive to make it full of laughter and silliness. The best shots are captured when you're letting loose and being yourself with the people you love most.

04. Do you offer engagement sessions?

I do! If you book a wedding package with me, I always include a complimentary engagement photoshoot! However I also do solely engagement shoots and surprise proposals!
